Christmas Mystery – Still Unsolved

by James P. Tate on December 7, 2011

Every Christmas season we sing about her but no one ever asks who she is, or what happened to her after the accident.  For the second year I have to ask “Who is Fanny Brice?”.  Please share your answer to this question on the Cogent Management Resources web site.

I remember she was a character in a Broadway musical. Are we allowed to google her???

I remember listening to Fanny Brice on the radio as a child. She was the star of a “program” called “the Baby Snooks Show.” When she decided that she had enough of Baby Snooks, she made an announcement on the radio and went off to Valhalla. I was heart-broken when she quit. I never heard from her again and did not see the connection between the Barbara Streisand film (Funny Girl; which you probably get on NetFlix) and her. I remember that all the kids in the neighborhood were sad at her leaving radio. Soon after TV became popular and Fanny faded into the mists of time.
Here is a partial copy of the article from Wickipedia.
